During our English Summer 2015, an opportunity arose for my daughter to be part of a London video shoot for an online beauty campaign for a large UK retailer. She was lured with talk of wearing a special dress, getting her hair & make-up done, AND earning her first fee to boot – not bad for a six year old! So we accompanied her by train & Tube to Clapham in London for an exciting day trip. Of course, there was much waiting around on set for her big moment, but when the time came to get spruced and dressed it was all go, go, go!
She’s used to my camera of course, but this was a whole new level with a buzzing team of people making the shoot happen! I was immensely proud of how she handled the ‘Lights, Camera, Action’ and carefully followed instructions from the Director & Producer. With permission, we were able to stand close by, and watch her moment on the client-monitor. Of course, ever-hopeful, I had brought my camera and managed to take a few photos of her in situ ‘on set’; a gorgeous kitchen of an impeccable period home that had been commandeered for the day by the film company.
It was fantastic being surrounded by all the crew & equipment – I admit I loved every minute from a technical point of view! And, I think my little girl was just slightly bitten by the ‘show business’ bug that day (and we all know there’s no business like it!).
So here’s a few frames I shot of her London video shoot – all in just a couple of minutes… And I love them all; she looks so beautiful to me…
