I’ve talked before about the joys of our Summer holidays! Escaping to the cooler climbs of England once school is out – and staying in my original childhood home with its garden joys. It is an amazing family time – especially for my RaFa – and whenever I had the chance I relished grabbing my trusty Canon to chase the light. RaFa enormously relish the garden and I delight at bath-time when I have to scrub off proper dirt from under their fingernails – proof of the garden joys they get to express here – much like my own childhood.
I can’t describe in words alone how much I love the tiny piece of England that is Mum’s home & garden. I have rocked around this garden since I was merely two years old… and the simple joys of being able to bring my own children back to experience it, is priceless! RaFa have spent so many hours running around, exploring, looking for mini-beasts, planting, digging, making up endless games, and just generally living those carefree joys of childhood. Their freedom afforded me some precious time to explore the garden with my lens – this time my trusty 100mm – which is beautiful for macro shots, but as you can see is suited as a wonderful focal length for portraits too.
People have often commented on my photography style being so strong in colour – I certainly I celebrate colour in the world and think it brings us many joys. But I am also drawn to and fascinated by monochrome tones – which in my opinion is timeless and can often suit certain photographs, giving new dimensions. I love exploring monochrome in plant shots – it seems to bring out the graphic qualities of their nature and make you see something we’re all so used to seeing in colour, in a totally new way. I have enjoyed exploring this concept with this set of images.
And, much as I love to pursue personal projects that take me in different directions photographically and keep things fresh – of course, I couldn’t resist and ended up with my lens pointed in RaFa’s direction… Always back to portraiture (my first love!).
So I am sharing some of these Summer images – which I hope you’ll enjoy… I really do appreciate spreading my creative wings and creating not just photographs – but art – and I hope you like them too?

Hello, my name is Victoria and I am a lifestyle family photographer based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. For me, photography is an essential way to preserve priceless memories and freeze moments in life. Time is all too fleeting and before we know it, the years pass by and we look back and wonder where the time went. We can’t stop time, but maybe – if I had a super power – that is what I’d wish for. Our best chance is to document our lives so we have a window into our past that we can visit whenever we like. I find so much joy in using my skills to create priceless memories for others. It challenges my mind and breathes energy into my soul. I celebrate freezing those moments to capture not only the big picture, but also the beautiful details and time-capsule minutiae, to celebrate the love and connections within family and kinship.
