Ahh… Summer holidays! We were so lucky to escape to the (certainly) cooler climbs of England once school was out – and even luckier that we get to stay in my original childhood home with Mum. It’s amazing family time – especially for my RaFa – and whenever I had the chance I relished grabbing my trusty Canon to chase the light. RaFa are always very willing models for me to indulge my love of photography. I don’t get many chances to pursue my personal projects when back in Abu Dhabi, so it was a true pleasure to be able to explore one of my favourite techniques of in-camera double exposure photography.
The gorgeous flora and fauna of England always serves as inspiration – especially seeing them again with renewed eyes coming from the desert… and I didn’t have to go far to find what I needed. All these double exposure shots were taken in Mum’s garden and our local park.
So I hope you enjoy them… It’s fun to let my creative and arty side go… I have almost as much fun post-processing them at home too!
P.S. The double exposure flora is mainly Mum’s ancient apple trees (same age as the house, circa 1889, and still producing apples), our huge silver birch that I have known & loved all my life, the wildflowers (a butterfly seed mix) my sister planted in the garden for RaFa – they were astonishingly beautiful & flowered all Summer, our gorgeous russet-red leafed Prunus tree in the garden, and various huge Oak & Horse Chestnut trees in our local park.
Childhood is so fleeting, and truly “the days are long, but the years are short”…! Let’s get talking to capture your family memories and freeze your own special moments in time…

Hello, my name is Victoria and I am a lifestyle family photographer based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. For me, photography is an essential way to preserve priceless memories and freeze moments in life. Time is all too fleeting and before we know it, the years pass by and we look back and wonder where the time went. We can’t stop time, but maybe – if I had a super power – that is what I’d wish for. Our best chance is to document our lives so we have a window into our past that we can visit whenever we like. I find so much joy in using my skills to create priceless memories for others. It challenges my mind and breathes energy into my soul. I celebrate freezing those moments to capture not only the big picture, but also the beautiful details and time-capsule minutiae, to celebrate the love and connections within family and kinship.
