‘Red Bull Air Race’ World Championship Action in Abu Dhabi | Abu Dhabi Lifestyle Family Photography

The Red Bull Air Race was established in 2003 and created by Red Bull.  It’s an international series of air races in which competitors have to navigate a challenging obstacle course in the fastest time.  Pilots fly individually against the clock and have to complete tight turns through a slalom course consisting of air-filled pylons, known as “Air Gates”.

Abu Dhabi is one of the hosts of this exciting event, and this was the season opening round in 2015.  The aerial action took place over the Arabian Gulf’s sparkling blue waters, overlooking the UAE capital’s impressive skyline.  It’s actually one of my personal highlights of the year… And we had a great view from Hiltonia’s Beach, so I grabbed my trusty 70-200mm zoom lens, and here is just a selection of the shots I took:
